"Do not buy anything from Century Novelty " 2008-11-18

NEVER buy anything from Century Novelty. Here are the reasons:

I bought 4 of this spinning tops from Century Novelty via amazon.com. But the items they sent to me definitely not the items they show by the image on the website.

The items are low quality; I mean very-bad quality, like trash. They are definitely not the items shown in the picture on amazon.com.

even worse: I contacted Century Novelty company to ask for return the items since they are not the ones that I ordered. But they did NOT help anything, even a little.

They said I could return it but I will only be refunded by the price of the tops not the shipping fee.

They send the wrong items! it was Century Novelty made the mistake. Why should I pay the shipping fee?!

The worst thing is: Century Novelty require me to pay the return shipping fee and told me this is their policy.

Is this policy fair? not at all.

Their trick is to set the price very low ($0.19 per top) but shipping fee very high which is $10. If I return the items, I need to pay anther $10 for return fee.

But after all this painful things, I will only get refund $0.19 * 4(I bought 4 tops) which is less than one dollar.

They force me keep the bad (very-bad) quality item by this unfair policy.

I swear I never by anything from Century Novelty Company.

I strong suggest anyone see this review do NOT buy anything from Novelty Company. If you really want it, re-read this review 3 times!!!

This is one of my favorite beyblades it is one of my best. my best is master draciel this beyblade has the best blade base other then draciel fortress you can have either endurence or attack. the attack ring snaps easily it is strong if you get a takara, but the british/american versions are made from cheap plastic. to do flame arrow on attack mode launch your dranzer s really hard dead center of the stadium once it makes contact with another blade it wiil send it flying. (WARNING: if using american/british blade put crazy glue on the attack ring before hand to prevent from snaping attack ring). On endurence mode you can easily demolish another blade but its harder to do try it with a grip dranzer grip,marksmen grip, etc this will give you more push dont pull the ripcord push the launcher dranzer will go in the stadium and evade just about any attack and send it back at them with a lot more power.

We bought this for my grandson to give to him on his 1st birthday and he really enjoys watching my husband make it spin. My husband had been looking in toy stores for an "old fashioned top" as he called it - one like he had as a child, but he could not find one. I got online and found this on Amazon (what can't you find on Amazon???) and we were happy with the price so we ordered it. It arrived promptly and is just as described. It spins with ease and hums when it gets going really fast, and it spins for such a long time, too! We thought it would be awhile before our grandson could spin it himself, but in no time at all he could actually make the thing spin by himself (he's 14 months now). While the Marksmen Grip may sound awesome on paper, it's really not that great. Sure, if you play by Power Spirit Rules with a Draciel, it could make all the difference. But with just about any other Beyblade, it doesn't do much more than look good. With an attack type beyblade, it can help by allowing you to keep your blade from going into the penalty zone by aiming for the wall (that's what gets it a 4/5) but that's all it's really good for. Draciel fans/users (thats me), BUY IT! But, if you like attack style, this is basically a waste of money.

OOOH! Look at the 4 huge spikes!!! Yeah, I've got to get it! WRONG!!!!! (well... sort of) This blade has more attack than it can handle. Sure, the big spikes dish out huge damage but they also take too much damage. This blade would be good if it had a heavier base. I put the attack ring from Griffolyon 2 on top of my Driger V base and weight ring and it performed much better. So, if you are willing to buy more than one blade, get Griffolyon 2 and Driger V and combine them as I said above. If you only want to get one blade get Driger V because it can beat my Griffolyon 2 every time. I gave this a 5 for education because it teaches about weight, inertia, and how different tops perform better with different weights/bases. I gave it a 5 for duribility because no-matter how many times it gets smashed and hurled multiple feet into the air it is always fine afterwards. I gave it a 5 for fun because there's nothing better than letting two plastic tops smash together and watching them get thrown around as they smash each other. Haha! C ya later!

Griffolyon 2 is a really good blade unless you forget to put the tip in like some other reviews I have read. This beyblade has a very large attack ring with four huge spikes. Even though it doesnt come with stats I would say that this blade base is for endurane since it can spin for very long time. Even though it is weak compared to my V,V2,and G beyblades impoted from Japan or my double,triple,and golden weight disks Beyblades this one pretty good. The last United States Toys r Us Beyblade tournemant for 2003 is on October 11 Saturday at about every Toys R Us in America. It starts at 12:00 lunch time. My Griffolyon combination is Dranzer G attack ring golden weight disk and Griffolyon 2 blade base and remember a strong long lasting defence always wins a match.

I bought my Griffolyon off my stepbrother who needed money. It was in fine condition. I have broken 4 blades with this Beyblade. It is also an awesome Beyblade against that pesky Trypio. Use its spikes to stop the rotation of Trypio from under its attack ring. I broke off the bottom tip of it when I was practicing the Bear Axe attack(WingDaber according to that other reviewer). It only broke off after about half a month of wear and tear on my part and another half a month of wear and tear on my little step brother's part. I highly recomend this blade.

The favorite was spinning the top upside down pulling the trigger to release it and let it fall to the floor. Also, get it going and toss it into the air and catch it with the saucer, that was a challenge!

Its great for all ages..adults will love it too. We timed it going for a full 4 minutes. A great toy with a small price tag. You've got to buy it!

I truly can't speak to the long-term durability of the toy as we've only received it, but it is appears very sturdy. We bought this as a centerpiece for a sailboat-themed baby shower -- it was such a hit. First, when you spin it, not only do the ships, etc. move, but the seagulls are making noise, the buoy is ringing, the lighthouse is blinking. Everyone had to try it. There was a 2 and a 3-year old there, both latched on to the top and played with it as long as we allowed. Too cute! And the mom-to-be seemed excited to include the top as part of the baby's sailboat-themed room.

A great value for so much fun.

the movement and sound inside this top really captures and holds the attention of my 11 month old. and his 3 year old and 7 year old sisters also enjoy it. this is a great toy for just observing when little (6 months or so). but when the child gets a bit older, he can start trying to work it on his own. finally, he will learn to master the up and down movement needed. good for teaaching motor skills and cause and effect. love this toy!

I have to add that the music/sound effects are not loud and annoying. they are gentle and amusing.

These are a great idea, but the quality is really lousy. I bought two tops for Christmas -- one for each of my toddler grandsons. They were great and the boys really liked them. Unfortunately, the first one stopped working about three days after Christmas -- when you push down on the handle, the handle just drops down inside and doesn't spin the top. The second one lasted until about a week after New Year, then the same thing happened. When I was a kid, we had a top (by a different manufacturer) that lasted forever. I think it was still working when I was a young adult -- so there's no reason for these to have broken other than bad quality control. I plan to write to the manufacturer, but meanwhile, I wouldn't recommend spending the money on these things.

Instead I bought a new one on Ebay for $11.95 plus shipping. Am pleased with the price but not the quality of the toy. Wobbles and does not hum very loud. I remember them humming louder - anyway mine did.

This is GREAT!! I already had seen one in a mall in New Mexico. It goes through batteries to I hooked up a 5v DC cord to it. THE THING DID NOT STOP FOR A WEEK. When it finally did, it was due to the gloss finish of the black stand being wore down to a dull state which caused more friction with the top and ultimately undermined it's stability. I'm sure this won't happen for a long time if you use batteries like you're supposed to.

I don't think you can go wrong with this toy. WE LOVE IT!!!
